The Graeme Dingle Foundation Wellington is empowering Porirua’s taiohi (youth) to capture the essence of what Youth Week’s 2021 theme “we are stronger together” means to them and their community.

Young people from the Foundation’s newly launched pilot programme, Career Navigator Community, will create and develop a film by the youth, for the youth.

The film will incorporate “He waka eke noa” (we are all in this canoe together).

Graeme Dingle Foundation Wellington‘s regional manager Jehan Fitisemanu says, ” Our Career Navigator Community programme supports young people aged 16-21 to develop a vision of a purposeful pathway into their future and to gain greater awareness of their capabilities.

“One objective for the project is for Career Navigator Community participants to identify and solve the challenges youth face.

“They will explore who’s in their community and how they can access support to help overcome life’s obstacles.”
