The last paragraph of your article on this topic in the O Saturday, October 13 edition is not quite right. This project K? has been budgeted for in every Council Annual Plan since April 2007. If council ay. staff stuck to the original brief, which was to bolster the existing revetment, it would be built by now. But council decided this was a great opportunity to create a 20m wide grass reserve, with a concrete walkway/cycleway between the new revetment and the homes on the north side of Whakarire Ave. The council, in conjunction with Beca, set to work and created an elaborate, over-the-top design, that blew the budget.
