Kiwi Can Term 2: Resilience

Kiwi Can Leader and Students

Resilience, the character trait so useful for both young and old, is the subject of this feature in our newsletter.

We run it once a term in partnership with Kiwi Can so that seniors can have useful and rewarding conversations with the young generation.

Talking to the young gives them a chance to hear the voice of experience from someone they may trust, and in turn gives back a sense of worth and satisfaction.

We just might learn something ourselves in the process! (Ed.) Kiwi Can runs in 17 Primary Schools around Marlborough teaching children important values and lifelong skills that they need to be successful in the workplaces of the future, and to become contributing members of their communities.

This term in schools, Kiwi Can children have been learning all about resilience, which is explained as: “coping with challenges and bouncing back”.

The term’s Kiwi Can lessons focus on three key components of resilience.
