New local book-This Kiwi Can Fly – the story of Ian Wakeling

Anne Flutey has written a number of books mainly about people associated with Ngamatapoun, Maxwell and nearby areas. Her latest – This Kiwi Can Fly is about Ian Wakehng who lives m the Brunswick area. It has taken her about two years to do the research and also to meet with Ian who “is away a lot” she explains. When she approached Ian about domg the book, his laconic response was : “I suppose so.'” He is part of a group including Anne, of retired PS-farming people originally from the Waitotara area who meet monthly at the Pukeko s Nest. The book will be formerly launched there this Thursday.
