The Great Whangaroa Kiwi Can Raft Race, a Graeme Dingle Foundation Far North event, was held on Saturday, March 20, with nine school rafts entered and five open division rafts.

In the school division, results were: Supreme Award, Totara North School; first place, Kaeo School; second place, Peria School; third place, Kaingaroa School. Most creative raft: Oruaiti School.

In the open division: First place. Harakore (Hikoi Productions Team); second place. Moana NZ; third place, Brydie and Friends. Most creative raft: Bush Fulla’s. Best team spirit: Kaeo Fire Brigade. The fire brigade earned “best team spirit” as heir raft sank near the start line.
