A charitable wine enterprise has won a prestigious wine award after its first vintage.

Borough Wines’ Pinot Rose´ 2020 won the prestigious Wineworks Trophy for Champion Rose´, having already won a gold medal for the rose´, and a silver medal for its Borough Pinot Gris 2020 at the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards. Borough Wines, managed by Socially Good Enterprises, was set up to create a long-term funding source for the Graeme Dingle Foundation Marlborough, which delivered life skills and values-based programmes for primary school pupils, secondary school students and 18 to 24-year-olds. Socially Good Enterprises chair Mark Unwin said he was ‘‘absolutely stoked’’ to hear Borough Wines’ first vintage produced award-winning wines.

About $8 from each $17.95 bottle went directly to the Graeme Dingle Foundation Marlborough.
