Honouring your intentions

In most cases, directing your gift to ‘greatest need’ is the best decision as it allows the Graeme Dingle Endowment Trust to use the gift where it can make the greatest impact at the time.

However, if you have specific intentions for your gift, it is possible for us to draw up a “Statement of Intentions” which instructs the Foundation on exactly how you would like your gift to be used. This process would be a collaborative effort between you and the Graeme Dingle Foundation. We want you to realise your philanthropic ambitions and balance them with delivering on the mission, vision and strategic priorities that are most important to meet the needs of young people now and into the future. These are defined by the Board based on needs assessments and research at the time.

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. If you are considering leaving a gift in your Will to the Graeme Dingle Foundation Forever Fund, we make the following commitments:

We will always respect your privacy and any information about your donation will be handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

We recognise and appreciate that your Will is personal to you. Some donors choose not to tell us about gifts in their Will before their death. However, if you do tell us, (and we would sincerely appreciate knowing) we will respect your wishes in terms of how we contact and talk to you in the future.

We will use your gift carefully and cost-effectively so that it has the greatest impact and allows you to connect with the work we do during your lifetime.

We will keep you informed of the Graeme Dingle Foundation’s vision and mission, the way the Foundation intend to use donated resources, and its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.

We will handle whatever gift you leave us with care, sensitivity and respect.

We will keep you informed of the identity of those serving on the Foundation’s governing board, and expect the Board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

We will give access to the Foundation’s most recent charitable financial statements as part of being a registered charitable entity (CC10847) under the Charities Act 2005.

We will be open about whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the Foundation or hired solicitors.

We welcome you to ask questions when making a donation or a gift in your Will and you can expect to receive direct, prompt, and truthful answers.

We recognise that your philanthropic commitment to help us may develop over a significant period of time and we are committed long-term to helping young people realise their potential.
