Kiwi Tahi is an early intervention programme for tamarki aged 8 – 12 years which aims to reduce the number of young people engaged in anti-social behaviour and/or the youth justice system. It provides positive role models for participants and their whanau, supports healthy relationships, teaches life skills that build resilience, and provides access to community services and support.

The 26 week programme incorporates a mentoring and life skills programme, adventure activities and social work support aimed at reducing the likelihood of children offending.  This aligns with the Ministry of Justice Youth Crime Action Plan which has the aim of: turning around young lives at the earliest opportunity and stopping problems before they develop.
