School camp building ‘sisterhood’ free following funding agreement

A school camp building connections and “sisterhood” will see every year nine student at Marlborough Girls’ College able to attend for free, following a commitment with Marlborough Lines.

The agreement, signed for the next five years, also means Marlborough Lines would fund around 60 senior student mentors and teachers to attend the camps.

The initiative was part of the school’s “Stars programme” run by the Graeme Dingle Foundation, which saw the year 12 and 13s mentor incoming students.

Marlborough Lines chief executive Tim Cosgrove said the partnership made sense as the company, which was a consumer owned entity, were trying to build on youth development and education.
