Opera, Roses, and Rosé – Idyllic Setting Revealed for Youth Fundraiser Event

On Friday 24 February youth development charity, the Graeme Dingle Foundation, will host a fundraiser expected to ignite the senses.

The event, named Rosé in the Roses, promises to take attendees on a journey of sound, smell and taste, all with a great cause at its heart.

Graeme Dingle Foundation is one of Aotearoa’s leading youth charities, known for helping tamariki and rangatahi to overcome life’s obstacles and succeed through its range of charitable youth development programmes.

Foundation supporter and Rosé in the Roses event MC Paula Bennett says “The event will be a chance for the public to really get behind this fantastic cause and enjoy a fabulous day in a gorgeous setting “

The events private setting boasts a stunning garden which features immaculate lawns, a variety of structured hedges and topiaries, rose-covered pergola, rose garden, water features, and bronze urns reminiscent of the homes from the gilded age in Rhode Island. The formal garden backs onto an American neo-classical Georgian-style home and was chosen as the penultimate location for Auckland Garden Designfest.

“It will be a wonderful day of networking and enjoyment. I really encourage people to get behind this wonderful cause and support tamariki and rangatahi who are part of the Graeme Dingle Foundation programmes” said Bennett

Graeme Dingle Foundation Business Development Manager Stephanie Brown said this was a chance for supporters to enjoy a beautiful afternoon of opera, rosé and entertainment in the sun, all while raising funds for young people in the Foundation’s programmes.

“It has been incredible seeing our community of supporters come together to make this event such a success. We have had amazing auction items donated, and we’ll have incredibly talented opera singers performing, we are really looking forward to seeing it all come together” said Brown

“All funds raised through the sale of tickets and through our auction will go toward supporting more than 26,000 young people in our programmes across Aotearoa. Our programmes are proven to improve attitudes and behaviour, improve academic results, help young people set and achieve goals, boost self-confidence, and reduce truancy rates and at-risk behaviours such as substance abuse. Through our community-focused, life changing, role modelling and mentoring programmes, our young people develop life skills and confidence – empowered to find purpose and direction in life.” She continued.

“After a few years of on-off cancelled events, we are really looking forward to this important fundraiser and hope to make a summer garden event a regular in our calendar.”

On the day guests can take part in a charity auction, hosted by Paula Bennett, which will feature items such as a day sailing on classic yacht Ariki, jewellery, a Porsche for a weekend, and cases of fine wine and champagne.

Rosé in the Roses event tickets are just $95 and includes a lunch, fine rosé sponsored by Lion, and captivating performances by talented opera singers Lulu Gao Mairs, member of the New Zealand Opera Chorus, and Ipu Laga’aia, who will perform for guests.
